Domain cost? - 2007/01/03 00:13 I'm thinking about starting up a website of my own. Right now, my husband has a domain (that he doesn't do much to keep up) and I'm pretty sure he pays $7.95/month for it. Is this a good price? Are there any better deals out there?

Re:Domain cost? - 2007/01/03 02:10 That's a good price, yeah.

I'd recommend NameCheap. You can get them from there for $8.88. If you use the coupon YAFFASPECIAL you can get them down to $7.98.

Good luck with the site!

Re:Domain cost? - 2007/01/03 02:30 $7.** per month?

Just for the domain?

I use 123-reg.co.uk for most of my domains because they are very reliable, best UK prices (of course beaten by the Americans!), nice admin panel, and I guess I just got my first domain there and it was easiest to keep them in one place!

Re:Domain cost? - 2007/01/03 02:38 123-reg.co.uk has .com's for £8.99 a year. That's scary.

Namecheap are perfect. Cheapest, one of the quickest for propagation, and accept paypal!

Re:Domain cost? - 2007/01/03 05:08 Why is that scary? Am i missing something? I have always used them so little experience elsewhere.

Never had a problem with them anyway.

Re:Domain cost? - 2007/01/03 15:26 I suppose when you have 40 domains it matters where you go.

Re:Domain cost? - 2007/01/04 16:28 Thanks for all of the help! Is it possible to buy domains internationally? For example, can you buy American domains using £ instead of dollars and vice versa? I'm just curious. I think namecheap is the company my husband bought his domain from. Thanks!

Re:Domain cost? - 2007/01/04 17:42 What does it matter? Are concerned with the exchange rate?

Re:Domain cost? - 2007/01/05 02:26 I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you are dealing with a reputable company you willbe fine. I think your bank does the exchange rate conversion for you anyway.

Also if you are in the UK buying US domains, looks like you save enough that you would still save money if the exchange rate is aweful. Still I can't be bothered transfering all my UK domains!
